Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?I am not in-network with insurance plans. Some clients use out-of-network benefits with superbills for partial reimbursement.
How do superbills work?I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you’d like, I can help you check your out-of-network benefits ahead of time so you have a sense of your expected reimbursement.
Can you see clients in Maryland or Virginia?I am currently licensed to practice in Washington, DC. Sessions are provided to clients who are physically located in Washington, DC at the time of session.
Do you have a physical office? No—this is a fully virtual practice. All sessions are conducted via a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Do you use AI in your practice?I may use AI tools to support administrative tasks like note writing. Sessions are not recorded, and your privacy and confidentiality are prioritized.
How does confidentiality work?Therapy is a confidential space, which means what you share is kept private. Your rights to confidentiality are protected by HIPPA.
There are a few legal exceptions to confidentiality. As a mandated reporter, I am required to break confidentiality if there are concerns about safety, including risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. If this ever comes up, I will do my best to communicate openly with you about next steps.
What is the youngest age you work with?I work with children ages 10 and up, as well as teens and adults.
How do I sign up for a group? You can reach out through the contact form with your interest in a specific group (find more information on currently available groups here). I’ll follow up with current availability, next steps, and fit.
What are your credentials?I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington, DC. My license number is LC200004331, and you can verify it through the DC Board of Social Work license lookup.
